  1. High School Diploma; College preferred
  2. Demonstrates interest in and aptitude for work to be performed and customer service;
  3. Computer proficiency, preferred;
  4. Strong communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills;
  5. Ability to work with constant interruptions and with various district employees;


     Maintains accurate receipts of all money received by BISD.

     Prepares the prompt and accurate payment of expenses incurred by the    



TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  Clerical/Technical Pay Grade 121

     226 days, estimated 8 hours daily, Wage/Hour status: Non exempt



  1. Receive, stamp, and process all business office mail.
  2. Maintain assigned vendor accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions.
  3. Communicate with vendor to resolve problems with billings and payments.
  4. Examine transactions daily for accuracy; make corrections as needed and inform the supervisor of problems.
  5. Receive and process for payment; account payable invoices and purchase orders.
  6. Match invoices with proper purchase orders; ensure completeness and accuracy of invoices and shipments.
  7. Maintain alphabetical filing system for accounts payable.
  8. Work with supervisor to detect and resolve problems with incorrect orders, invoices and shipments.
  9. Contact district personnel and vendors to correct or obtain information as needed.
  10. File vendor payment supporting documentation. Verify appropriate approvals on purchase orders and invoices.
  11. Research aged checks and purchase orders.
  12. Communicates current status of invoices to supervisor.
  13. Research, gather, and submit requests for annual audit information pertaining to accounts payable.
  14. Process and reconcile employee travel, including, but not limited to accommodations, meals, and fees.
  15. Process and reconcile student travel including, but not limited to field trips, athletic, and academic travel.
  16. Administers and reconciles all credit card accounts.
  17. Reconciliation of activity accounts for clubs and class groups.
  18. Prepare weekly deposits on behalf of the district..
  19. Complies with directions and instructions from supervisor, performs other tasks, and assumes such responsibilities as may be assigned.
  20. Maintains positive and cooperative working relationships with colleagues and others in the conduct of district business and demonstrates teamwork in daily activities.
  21. Is prompt, timely, and thorough in completing assignments and attending to details accurately and efficiently.
  22. Maintains confidentiality in the conduct of district business.
  23. Provides complete and accurate information in the conduct of district business.
  24. Complies with district policies, as well as state and federal laws and regulations.
  25. Adheres to the district’s safety policies and procedures.
  26. Participates in staff development training programs to improve job performance.
  27. Participates in meetings and special events as assigned.
  28. Is regular in attendance and complies with notification procedures for absences.
  29. Act in a professional and ethical manner and adhere at all times to the professional Code of Ethics.
  30. Performs other tasks and assumes such responsibilities as related to the position and as assigned.

EQUIPMENT USED: Uses adding machine, copier, computer, fax machine, scanner


     Mental Demands:  Reading; ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written);

     Maintain emotional control under stress; ability to perform basic arithmetic.

     Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:  Moderate stooping, bending and lifting; work

     with frequent interruptions; repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of computer.
