Welcome to Automotive Technology. For those of you that do not know me, my name is Randy Bridges and I have been an automotive instructor for 18 years. I am an ASE certified master technician and owned my own automotive business for 7 years. I also have worked in automotive dealerships and independent shops with a total of over 30 years of experience. I am also a long term member of the Lake Rayburn Fire department, certified Texas fire fighter and medical first responder. I have been married for 29 years and live in Brookeland. Once you get to know me, you will find that I love to work. It is important to see my students work and gain the skills they need to succeed. This school year is going to be challenging but I will try to make it as productive and interesting as possible. I am looking forward to getting to know each one of you.

NOTE TO PARENTS & STUDENTS

Dear Parent/Guardian,

Greetings as we begin our new school year.  It is going to be a challenging and exciting school year.  I hope to make it a fun year and a real learning experience for each student.

There are a few things that I need your help and support with. As you know shop work can be hot and dirty.  Work clothes and shoes are required and must be provided by the student. There are lockers for storing them and the students will be responsible for washing and returning their clothes.  Also, we will be using many different chemicals in our shop and sometimes these may cause allergic reactions. If there is a problem please let me know as soon as possible. We have gloves, aprons, safety glasses and respirators but at times, for some students, there is still a problem.  Safety glasses are required to be worn by all students in the shop area.

I hope to improve the quality of future automotive technicians, inspire some to enter the automotive field and help give all my students a valuable work ethic.  I look forward to teaching your child and wish for your support.
